Join YLIB – Young Leaders in Barents!
Are you our next YLIB participant?
Did you know that we have a unique leadership program for young people in sports within the Barents region? The program is called YLIB – Young Leaders in Barents – and we are now looking for new participants for the upcoming two-year program.
Apply by November 1st, 2024
As a YLIB participant, you will gain valuable professional development, build exciting networks, and have the opportunity to become an ambassador for your sport and your country within the Barents Sports collaboration. You’ll participate in webinars,
gatherings, and be introduced to the world of sports leadership both in your own country and across the region.
Plus, you’ll get a chance to help organize and experience the Barents Games up close!
Throughout the program, we work towards six specific goals:
Provide opportunities for young people to learn from each other across national borders – academically, culturally, and socially.
Develop young leaders and volunteers in sports event management.
Promote cultural understanding across national boundaries.
Provide insight into the structure of sports organizations in different countries.
Build expertise, practical experience, and motivation for youth to contribute to sports.
Empower young people to have a say in shaping their own sports future.
Who are we looking for?
YLIB is aimed at young sports leaders aged 18-25, with a preference for English-speaking participants. We are looking for four participants (two girls and two boys) from each country: Finland, Sweden, and Norway, residing in the Barents region. Participants will join gatherings, webinars, seminars, board meetings, and the Barents Games, with 2-4 gatherings per year, including the Barents Games and the Barents Sports Conference.
Interested in joining YLIB? We’d love to hear about your passions and why you want to be part of the program. Apply now by following the link below.
