Wrestling is one of the cornerstones in the history of Barents Sports. It has a long tradition as part of the region’s sporting exchange. Wrestling was one of the pioneering events in the people-to-people cooperation and buses have travelled miles transporting competitors across the Barents region. The four countries have excellent contact and have served as a model for how to «share the arctic spirit». In wrestling, both girls and boys compete in several different weight categories.
