About Barents Winter Games 2018

When Barents Winter Games takes place in Luleå, 16-18 of March 2018, athletes between 15 and 25 years will compete in 15 different sports. 3 sports will also involve parasport athletes. The participants represent local clubs in the Barents region, but in Barents Games they represent their countries; Sweden, Norway, Finland or Russia.

With over 1.000 participants BWG 2018 will be a huge sportevent in Luleå and a platform for friendship and understanding among young people from the four countries.

Barents Games is an arena for both sporting and cultural exchange and makes people-to-people cooperation between the four countries possible. Our motto is "Sharing the Arctic Spirit."

Organizer of Barents Wintergames in Luleå is Barents Sports Committé Sweden and Norrbottens Idrottsförbund in cooperation with regional sportfederations, local sportsclubs, volunteers and the municipality of Luleå.
