The last conference was held in Kirkenes 7. -9. October 2016. The goal is to develop for Barentssport in the future.
120 participants from Russia, Sweden, Finland and Norway met in Kirkenes for input about Barents Sport and the opportunity to influence the future in their sport.
Strategic Plan 2016 - 2020, Long time budget and new Guidelines were adopted during the conference.
29 of 30 sports in the Barents Sport Program were present. They had time to meet across the boarders and discuss how they want the Barents Games to develop.
The next conference should be held in Piteå, Sweden in september 2020, but are now moved to 21-23 May 2021 due to the current corona-situation.

1994: Luleå, Sweden - Calott conference with participation from Russia for the firs time
1997: Oulainen, Finland -the first official Barents Sport Conference. Change of name from Kalottidrett to Barents Sport.
2000: Bodø, Norway (also 50 years anniversary)
2001: Karasjok, Norway (extraordinary conference)
2004: The conference was supposed to take place in Rovaniemi, but was canceled due to economic reasons.
2005: The conference was supposed to take place in Murmansk, but was canceled due to economic reasons.
2006: Bardufoss, Norway
2009: Luleå, Sweden
2010: Levi, Finland (also 60 years anniversary- extraordinary conference due to the anniversary)
2012: Montchegorsk, Russia (decision made: the Conference should be organized every 4th year)
2016: Kirkenes, Norway
