A classic Barents sport going back many years. Orienteering has long enjoyed an effective exchange between the countries and major international competitions have been organized together annually. The sport is continually developing and we will be seeing new events and initiatives to generate even more interest in orienteering.

20 athletes (10 boys and 10 girls) in this ages participate: 15-16 years: 2+2,
17-18 years: 2+2, 19-20 years: 2+2, 21-25 years: 4+4.

The competition forms for orienteering is long distance and middle distance or sprint.

When Barents Winter Games takes place in Luleå 16-18 March 2018, more than 1000 young athletes from Sweden, Norway, Finland and Russia will compete in 15 different sports, including three parasports.
